Equipment Purchase

I am currently using a pair on Hoings shin guards, I am having trouble with the bottoms of them flaring out. I have seen allot of guys using Gerry Davis shin guards with good results. I believe my next purchase will be a pair of Gerry Davis Shin Guards.
They are available on line.

I'm currently using Wilson West Vest shin guards and am thoroughly satisfied. They're light, fit me comfortably, and give outstanding protection. The wrap-around coverage they provide at and above the ankles is especially good. The outer shell is high-impact polystyrene and the foam padding underneath is thick and not too firm. Together, the shell and padding spread impacts across a wide area, so I never feel anything except that I got hit somewhere. Very protective.

The Davis shins are getting to be very popular. They have two straps and are extremely light -- you'll forget you're wearing them. I've taken a foul ball off the shin in a college scrimmage and didn't even feel it.
They tend to flare out while they sit in the back of the car -- or at least mine do. I've got a very early model, so this might be solved now. To prevent the flaring, I've made a small frame out of wood that I slide them into after games. This keeps them in shape.

I've been using the Gerry Davis shin guards this past season at all levels and can say with alot of confidence that they are comfortable and very protective. I sometimes do multiple games in one day and I never get rashes or chafing under my guards like I did in the past with other models. I too have taken direct hits off of my guards with no injury. The material also allows for breathing and no sweat build up. I would highly reccomend them especially at the $59.00 price!
