Went to the beginner clinic

Went to the beginner clinic for 4 hours last weekend and as I thought, umpiring is not nearly as easy as it seems.  The subleties, form and techniques when done well make umpires almost seem invisible.  My observations over 15 years of coaching from Cal Ripken to high school, is that the umps who take the time to learn and gain experience improve along with players who do the same.  I wish I had continued umping from when I was a teenager until now.

Anthony, The clinics for the

Anthony,

The clinics for the 2011 calendar year are done.  We do have a full schedule of clinics and classes available starting the first of the year.  It is not posted on the events as of yet, but keep checking back periodically and it will show up shortly.  I would encourage you to attend the NCOA instruction that will be starting in January.  We meet on Monday evenings for 11-13 weeks.  It would be a great way to get a head start on your umpiring for the coming season.
If you have any questions you can always send me a message directly from here.
